Moments of the photon spectrum in the inclusive B →
نویسنده
چکیده
The moments of the photon spectrum in the inclusive B → Xs γ decay can be calculated to order αs accuracy at present, without knowing the αs corrections to the effective Hamiltonian. We discuss the standard model predictions, and how the moments of the photon spectrum are related to certain matrix elements of the heavy quark effective theory. The sensitivity of these moments to new physics is small, and they provide a model-independent determination of the b quark pole mass (at order αs), or equivalently, the matrix elements Λ̄ and λ1 of the effective theory. Corrections to Moments of the Photon Spectrum in the Inclusive Decay B → X s γ
We investigate the two main uncertainties on the extraction of the nonperturbative matrix elements Λ̄ and λ1 from moments of the inclusive rare FCNC decay B → Xsγ. The first one is due to unknown matrix elements of higher dimensional operators which are estimated by varying the matrix elements in a range as suggested by dimensional analysis. The effect of these terms is found to be small. A seco...

متن کاملAnalysis of the Photon Spectrum in Inclusive B → X s γ Decays
Using a combination of the operator product and heavy quark expansions, we resum the leading nonperturbative contributions to the inclusive photon spectrum in B → Xs γ decays. The shape of the spectrum is determined by a universal structure function, which describes the distribution of the light-cone momentum of the b-quark inside the B-meson. The moments of this function are proportional to fo...
متن کاملTWO PHOTON TRANSITIONS IN THE OPTOGALVANIC SPECTRUM OF NEON
Seventeen two-photon transitions for neon have been observed in the 580- 635 nm spectral region for use in the spectroscopic study of its higher excited levels, which are not accessible by one-photon absorption. To compare the two and one-photon absorption signals originating from the same lower level, an effort was made to record single-photon optogalvanic spectrum in the available wavele...
